Helping Hands for the Holidays works
to capture the miracle of our community's spirit
of giving. Social Workers and Case
Managers at the Worcester County Department of Social
Services (DSS) and the health department
identify needy families
with children and vulnerable adults in Worcester
County who are in need of holiday assistance
(this is a referral based program - not a
"call in" program).
At Worcester County
G.O.L.D., the holiday season is always a
delightful time of sharing even though many of
us are frantically coping with expanding lists
of things we must do by December 25th. In 2006, Helping Hands for the Holidays
distributed 125 turkey/food/cleaning supplies
boxes and provided gifts for 931 Worcester County citizens by community sponsors who displayed the true
miracle of the human spirit.
Please consider
"adopting" a local family, an adult or
several children in Foster Care.
This is a great
opportunity for your business office, church
group, civic organization, school group,
neighbor- hood or individual family to help others
in our local community. You can indeed
create a miracle-a brighter holiday season for
someone in Worcester County.
