Worcester County G.O.L.D.

Many Worcester County families, living below poverty line, have little extra income to provide the holiday treats for their children that many of us take for granted.  In an effort to help needy children in our local communities, Worcester County G.O.L.D. annually plans the G.O.L.D. Spring Basket Project for Worcester County children in need.

Community sponsors are being sought to prepare baskets for children in specific families referred to the G.O.L.D.'s Spring Basket Project by Social Workers and Case Managers at the Department of Social Services (DSS) and Health Department in Worcester County.

Baskets that you tag with the child's name and age are delivered to Worcester County G.O.L.D. at the DSS in Snow Hill and distributed to families by Social Workers and Case Managers.  In 2007, 241 baskets were delivered to local children in Pocomoke, Snow Hill, Girdletree, Newark, Berlin, Ocean Pines, Bishopville and Ocean City.

bulletIf your family, club, office group or church or civic organization would like to provide several or many spring baskets, please call Debbie or Darlene at (410)677-6843, 677-6830.
